How to play

Rules

Fantasy Armstrong turns real Leinster league results into a simple fantasy points competition.

Pick a squad
01

Build

Choose ten players

Spend no more than €65.0m on eight starters and two substitutes, with no more than two players from one club.

02

Manage

Set your lineup

Confirm your squad before each published fantasy deadline. GW3 closes at 23:59 Irish time on 14 November. After a deadline passes, saves and transfers automatically apply to the next gameweek. You can keep saving while its deadline is awaiting confirmation. Choose a captain and vice-captain from your starting eight; substitutes replace non-playing starters in order.

03

Score

Follow real results

Every player who plays earns two appearance points. Further points come from wins and draws, playing Black, higher-board results, rating-gap outcomes, team victories and standout performances in the Armstrong Cup.

Scoring rules

Fantasy scoring

Result bonuses apply to a win or draw. A loss to a player rated at least 100 points lower earns the listed penalty. Expected score uses the standard FIDE formula; actual score minus expected score ranks all 16 players in each team match for the +2/+1 performance bonuses. Exact ties are resolved by result, board and player ID. A captain’s complete score, including appearance points, team and performance bonuses or any penalty, is then doubled.

Your advantage

Three chips, one of each per season

Play at most one chip per gameweek from My Team before its deadline. Normal squad, budget and club limits always apply.

Wildcard

Unlimited free transfers this gameweek. Your new squad stays permanently.

Free Hit

Unlimited free transfers for one gameweek. Your pre-week squad returns afterwards.

Cemento

Add 3 points for each active drawn appearance this gameweek. Captain doubling applies.

Wildcard and Free Hit preserve banked transfers and cannot be cancelled after activation. They become available after your first scored squad. Cemento can be cancelled before the deadline; unused bench points never count. In a double gameweek, the chip covers both matches and Cemento applies to each drawn appearance. Free Hit restores your pre-week squad once for the whole event.

Transfers

One free transfer each gameweek

Unused free transfers roll over, up to five. Each additional confirmed player transfer costs four points, including bringing a player back. Save as often as you like: re-saving the same players, changing captaincy and reordering the bench use no transfers. Before your first scored squad, player changes are unlimited.

Opening prices are fixed for the launch season. Any future introduction of price movements will be announced before it affects squad values.
